There is much evidence in the park of the various activities undertaken here over the past 800 years. Medieval ridge and furrow agriculture can be seen along the southernmost boundary. Dells across the park show where clay was extracted for the once sought-after green glazed Farnham pottery, and the remains of a 13th century tile kiln has also been found. During the Second World War the Women's Land Army turned much of the park over to food crops and defences including pill boxes, anti-glider posts and a spigot mortar post were erected. | |||||
